The Fear of Success is The Beginning of Failure

So many of us have been conditioned to believe that success is for the few and lucky ones. At times, we so much fear to undertake some things because of the risks involved.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said ‘Always do what you are afraid to do’. I have come to the realization that what we are afraid to do is success. Why are we afraid of success?

The fear of success won’t do you any good; rather you will miss many things that success will bring to you. Critics and backbiters will always be there to make you lose focus. They could be friends, family, co-workers or anybody. Just know to yourself that you can never please anyone, ignoring them is the best weapon.

When you press forward, success will bring you:
- Confidence at the highest level
- More network of high level professionals
- A happier bank account
- More doors opened and more.

I’ve learnt that to be successful, ignoring the critics and backbiters are not the only way out. The two other things involved are to stay away from negative people i.e. always be positive and don’t be scared to fail.

When you fail, it simply means you value success more and don’t forget to learn from it by educating yourself how everything went downhill.

Lastly, I will share what a friend once shared with me. He told me success is like walking in a dark room, at first you feel scared and don’t know what to expect, but once you found the light and turns it on, everything becomes clear and simple.

Don’t fear success, rather think of what success brings.
