According to the statistics released by the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examination Board (JAMB):
- A total of 1,629,102 candidates applied to sit for the Paper Pencil Test (PPT)
- 15,008 candidates applied for the Dual Based Test
- 1,644,110 is the total number that sat for the exam.
- 10 candidates scored 300 marks and above.
- 127,017 candidates scored between 1-159 marks
- 40,692 candidates'' results were invalid due to either multiple shading or no shading at all.
- 40 centres would be screened to ascertain their culpability
- 47,974 candidates were absent.
Regarding the checking of the 2013 UTME results, candidates are not required to pay any fee, as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examination Board (JAMB) has promised to allow every candidates that participated in the exam to access the 2013 UTME result checking portal for free without any charges involved.

2012 WAEC Results Official Statistics Released: 53% had six credits
The recently conducted 2013/2014 West African Senior School Leaving Certificate Examination (WASSCE) statistics shows that majority of students who sat for the examination would be experiencing shortfalls in major areas. WAEC May - June 2013 Result Released: Check Instructions
889,636 candidates obtained six credits and above, while 1,074,065 others obtained five credits and above. Further breakdown revealed that 1,225,591 candidates obtained credits and above in four subjects, 1,353,273 obtained credits and above in three subjects, while 1,465,581 obtained credits and above in two subjects.
A total of 1,689,188 candidates registered for the examination out of which 1,543,683 candidates sat for the examination.
“Out of the total number of candidates, 1,543,683 candidates, representing 91.38 per cent, have their results fully released while 145,505 candidates, representing 8.62 per cent, have a few of their subjects still being processed,” the report said.
The examination body also stated that 112,865 candidates’ results, representing 6.75 per cent, are being withheld in connection with various cases of examination malpractices.
Finally, Candidates who sat for the examination will be able to check their results online as soon as their result is out.

JAMB UTME 2012 Cut-Off Marks: 180 for Universities, 160 for Others
A post was recently shared here that JAMB will be releasing a Harmonized Cut-off Marks for Nigerian Higher Institutions. Jamb has now officially announced the National Cut-Off marks for Nigerian Higher Institutions today.
The National cut-off mark for entry into any University in Nigeria is 180 and 160 for entry into Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and other diploma-awarding institutions.
The National Cut-off mark was decided in Abuja yesterday at the 2012 combined policy committee meeting on admissions to degree-awarding institutions, National Diploma (ND), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and National Innovation Diploma-awarding institutions.
Students are to note that the cut-off mark released is the benchmark cut-off meaning that No UNIVERSITY in NIGERIA can cut below 180 while No POLYTECHNIC or COLLEGE OF EDUCATION can cut below 160 and each institution has the right to set a cut-off mark higher than the benchmark but not lower.
Students are to note that before they can be qualified for admission into any Nigerian University they must score 180 and above likewise Polytechnic and College of Education (160). So any students that score below 159 cannot be offered admission into any of the Higher Institutions and would need to wait till next year to write another JAMB UTME.
JAMB Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde has made a public warning to private Universities in Nigeria against conduct of illegal admissions of students.

Interested and qualified candidates for the DE programme can obtain the registration scratch cards from any JAMB offices nearest to them and from any First City Monument Bank Plc (FCMB) or Zenith Bank Nationwide.Before you start the registration proper, you’re advised to download the JAMB DE Registration Template so that you won’t make unnecessary mistake in the course of online registration. By now you must have fill the downloaded templates and you must be sure it is error free. Now proceed to DE registration portal HERE and use the sign up option to validate your PIN and serial Number. Ensure that you have an electronic copy of your most recent Passport Photograph and it should not be older than 3 months. Your Passport Photography must be in JPEG Format with a size not more than 15 Kilo Bytes. Candidates are required to test the validity of their Passport Photographs before proceeding to fill the form.

2013/2014 NECO June/July Official Timetable
The National Examinations Council (NECO) recently released her 2013 JUNE/JULY SSCE timetable. According to the examination board, the exam is scheduled to start on the 1st day of June 2013 and ends on the 12th day of July 2013. All candidates are hereby advice to start preparing for the exam and we believe one of the ways to assist candidates preparing for the NECO 2012 SSCE is to provide them with the exam table to enable them prepare towards the exam.

JAMB to Release a Harmonized Cut-off Marks for Higher Institutions
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde announced in Abuja when he received a four-man delegation from Nigerian Turkish Nile University, who paid him a courtesy visit, led by its Vice Chancellor, Bunyamin Kaptanoglu that a harmonized cut-off point would kick start admission process for 2012/2013.
Jamb successfully conducted the 3rd edition of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on the 24th of March 2012 and a total of 1.5 million candidates applied and sat for the exam in Nigeria & six other countries.
So JAMB registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde said that the board has set a date to openly broadcast the admission cut-off marks for Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Educations. The date set for the openly broadcast is May 21 2012.
ABC Transport Plc Scholarship Calls for Oral Interview
The ABC transport scholarship program was opened last year November for full-time First Year (100 level) degree students and it was announced here on justnaira. Successful candidates who were shortlisted for the ABC transport scholarship program are now alerted through sms for Oral interview. The Oral interview is scheduled to hold on the 27th & 28th of April at ABC Head Office in Owerri.
Candidates that received a confirmation SMS from ABC are required to go to the ABC transport terminal nearest indicated in the SMS to book for their seat to Owerri a day or two before the travel date. This simply means that every candidate outside Owerri will be transported by the company free of charge.
