How to Use Etisalat and Airtel BIS to Browse on Computer | PC

In my recent posts, I shared a little tutorial on how MTN BIS and Glo BIS can be used to browse on PC. But after the tutorial, hundreds of this blog readers pours requests via our contact us page for a tutorial on how to use Etisalat and Airtel BIS on PC. As of now, what I can say about this is that Etisalat BIS does not currently work with PC as at the time of writing this post, although Airtel BIS works and it is the easiest of all networks that was the reason why I don’t write about it in the past time.

As already explained above, Etisalat BIS does not work presently on PC. So this post will focus on how to use Airtel BIS on PC, but as time goes on, I will update this post whenever Etisalat BIS start working on PC.

Steps to Use Airtel BIS on PC

• Subscribe for any Airtel BlackBerry Plan. You can choose to subscribe for Airtel complete or social plan. Visit Airtel BlackBerry Internet Service Plan page for more information about Airtel BIS bundles.
• After subscribing for any Airtel BIS plan of your choice, insert your Airtel SIM into your modem or BlackBerry (learn how to use your BlackBerry as Modem) and then connect your modem or BlackBerry device using the settings below:
  Profile Name : Airtel BIS
  APN : internet.ng.zain.com
  Access number: *99#
  Username : wap
  Password : wap

With the steps illustrated above, you should be able to use your Airtel BIS to browse on your PC.

How to Use Glo BIS to Browse on Computer | PC

On our How To Use MTN BIS on PC page, some of this blog readers contacted me online via this blog Contact Form, requesting for how they can also use Glo BIS on PC. So today, I want to share a simple tutorial on how I was able to use my Glo BIS on my BlackBerry and at the same time use it on my PC.

Nigerian ISP data plans specially made for PC’s are just too expensive to use, but in the case of BlackBerry Internet Service plan, they are relatively cheaper than the normal data plans. So Nigerians have been devising various means to use BIS meant for BlackBerry devices on PC, since BlackBerry is commonly used among Nigerians and the subscription price is relatively cheaper than normal data plans.

In the past, MTN and Airtel BIS are the only one working on PC, but now, Glo BIS too is now working, though Glo BIS data bundle is limited unlike MTN  BIS that has unlimited data bundle, but it is better than Airtel BIS. Glo weekly data plan bundle gives you 700MB while Glo monthly data plan bundle gives you 3GB.

Steps to Start Using Glo BIS on PC

Insert the Glo sim with BIS into your Modem. But in case you are using another service provider modem and you are yet to unlock it, go to Modem Unlocker Software page to get the unlocking software to unlock it yourself. If you are using huawei E303 series and other modems that are stubborn to unlock, Get the Modem Unlock Code Here.
If you don’t have a modem, go to How to Use Your BlackBerry Phone as Modem page to learn how it can be done.

• First subscribe for any Glo BIS plan of your choice. Go to Glo BlackBerry Complete Plans page for more info about Glo BIS price, you can go for the weekly (N400) or monthly (N1,400) plan.
• After Subscription, go to your BlackBerry Desktop Manager or modem dashboard and then add a new profile using the information below:
  Profile Name : Glo BIS
  APN : blackberry.net
  Access number: *99#
  Username : leave blank
  Password : leave blank
• After creating the new profile for Glo BIS, go back to the connection interface and then connect with the Glo BIS profile.

How To Use Etisalat Free Facebook MB with Opera Mini

Recently, I shared a post on How to Get Free MB on Etisalat to Surf Facebook and I promised that I will explain how to use the free MB with all versions of Opera mini. So today, I will give an explanation on how to use the free bundle with Opera mini.



To use the Etisalat free MB, you must first switch to Etisalat default settings on your phone. In case you don’t have the default settings on your phone, simply send the word SETTINGS as text to 790 or you can manually configure it with the following settings:

Etisalat Nigeria users can now enjoy moments of browsing infinitely on PC and Phone without any fear. You can now browse infinitely with a onetime token of #100 on your Etisalat sim. Below are the steps to configure your PC and Phone:

How to Configure Your PC to Browse Free with Etisalat

Note that you must have #100 balance on your phone (must not be up to #200) them dial *499*3*2# and wait for a reply that you’re welcome to etisalat blackberry complete voice plan. After that, remove your battery and put it back to get the service running.

1. You need to create a new connection on your PC with the settings below and save it.

APN: blackberry.net
Username: empty
Password: empty

2. Now go to the advance settings of the new connection you made and make your:

Primary DNS address: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS address: 8.8.4.4

Now save and connect.

3. The final thing you need to do now is to configure your browser manually with these settings:

That’s all with Etisalat on pc. Note that you don’t need to subscribe to any blackberry plan for this trick to work.

Go to advance settings and configure it with:

Secondary DNS address: 8.8.4.4
Ip address: 10.71.170.5
Port: 8080
Save and start browsing free with all your mobile applications.

Today, I want to share with you the method to use your MTN BIS with your computer. This method will save you from subscribing on your Modem and BB at the same time. The softwares we are going to use for these are UltraSurf, FreeGate and Hotspot Shield. Though there are many softwares we can use for this stuff but am going to be updating the post with new softwares as I continue with my research. Below is a simple explanation on how to use and get the software.

How to Use Your MTN BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) on Your Computer

#1. You must first subscribe to the MTN BIS. This can be done by sending BBC to 21600 (#1,500 / Month) or BBC WEEK to 21600(#500 / Week) through text.
#2. After that a subscription confirmatory message will be sent to you, then connect your BB with your computer or Insert your Sim card into your Modem.
#3. You need to create a new connection profile on your BlackBerry Desktop Manager or Modem using the following:

Access Point: blackberry.net
Username: web
Password: web

After proper configuration, then connect.

HOW TO USE MTN BIS TO BROWSE ON YOUR PC USING SPOTFLUX (New and Working Updated on Jan 7 2013 )

How to Use BIS Directly on Computer without Any Software (Not Working Presently)

If you wish to use MTN & other network BIS on your PC directly without any software, you just need to add some DNS to you settings. Below are some DNS you can use:

Primary DNS: 31.31.78.164,
Secondary DNS: 178.170.117.25,

Primary DNS: 67.138.54.100
Secondary DNS: 207.225.209.66

Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

Primary DNS: 68.87.74.162
Secondary DNS: 68.87.68.162

With the above DNS settings, you will be connected to the internet faster and easier without using any software.

How to Use FreeGate with MTN BIS (Not Working Presently)

1. Download freegate software from HERE
2. After downloading the software, then launch it and wait for it to connect automatically
3. After a successful connection, then configure your browser manually to work with:
Http and Https Proxy: 127.0.0.1 and Port: 8580. If done properly you should be connected to the internet. That’s all.

How to Use UltraSurf with MTN BIS (Not Working Presently)

1. Download freegate software from HERE
2. After downloading the software, then extract and launch it and wait for it to connect automatically
3. After a successful connection, then configure your browser manually to work with:
Http and Https Proxy: 127.0.0.1 and Port: 9666. If done properly you should be connected to the internet. That’s all.

How to Use Hotspot Shield with MTN BIS (Not Working Presently)

1. Download the software from HERE.
2. After downloading, install it on your PC.
3. Connect your modem to the internet and then launch the software.

HOW TO BROWSE FREE ON YOUR LAPTOP/DESKTOP COMPUTER!
Let me go straight to business. Browsing free on your PC is in two categories. The first category are those people using modem (e.g. mtn fast link, glo net pro and whatever modem you are using) while the second category are people using their mobile phone to connect to the internet as modem. I will try to explain this clearly to these two categories of people.

The First Category (People Using Modems)
If you are using your modem to connect, create a new browsing profile on your modem software tab with the access point “gloms”

The Second Category (People Using Phone as Modem)
If you are among the people using phone as modem, just connect your phone to your pc, launch your pc suite and configure it manually using “glomms’ as access point.

After you have configure the device you want to use to connect, open your Mozilla Firefox, go to tools ==> Option ==> settings ==> network settings.
Click on manual proxy connection
Use proxy: 10.100.114.144 &
Port: 3130


Save your settings and start browsing free on your computer. Am using this tweak on my laptop now. I use it to post this. Browse Free With Your Computer 24/7 Without Paying a Dime (FREE)

Sometimes ago a friend of mine told me that he can configure my computer to browse free without paying a dime, so I allowed him to configure my computer for me, lo and behold, my computer browse freely for 24/7 without subscribing. Since then, I have stop using my glo sim I use for subscription.

I have been using my computer to browse for more than a year now since he has configured it or me. I want to share how my friend configure my computer to browse free of charge.

The software I use for the browsing is called Your-freedom. Before I start the configuration proper, you will need to:

1. Sign up an account with your freedom @ www.yourfreedom.net

2. Download your freedom software from http://www.your-freedom.net/index.php?id=downloads

After proper sign up and download, configure your computer as shown in the picture illustration below.

Step 1:- Install the software, after a successful installation, launch the software and it will look like the picture below.

Step 2:- Click on configure and a new window will pop out where you can configure it.
In the new window, configure it as shown below.
Address: d.facebook.com
Port: 80
Connection Mode: HTTP
Tweaks: None

Step 3:- Click on "account information" tab and insert the username and password you use to register on www.your-freedom.net

 

Step 4:-Click on Save and Exit below the tab then return to the main window. Then click on the port tab and click on the two boxes as shown in the picture below.

After proper configuration as shown in the steps above, exit the software and relaunch it again and leave it to connect it self. If connected successfully, it will look like the image below:

Once the software shows something of this nature, that means you are connected to the internet. But if the little door you are seeing in the software is closed or show a red exclamation mark in between the door, that means your settings is not correct or the network is bad at the point of configuration.

You have one more step to go to finish the whole configuration. The last step is that you should go to your browser. Let us take Mozilla Firefox as an example, click on tools ==> Option ==> Advance tab ==> Network ==>Settings then tick on manual configuration and set your:
Http proxy: 127.0.0.1 port: 8080
Socks Host: 127.0.0.1 port: 1080
Set the rest of the proxy to 127.0.0.1 and port to 8080

Use Your Computer To Browse The Internet Free Of Charge

I want to introduce to you an internet proxy software that will allow you to browse the internet without paying. This means that you will browse free with your computer with this java application, this java application is very small in size, it is less that 1mb in size. This java application is called INDIAN WEB PROXY. You might have heard of it before, but I want to give you the latest configuration. This software can work with the major network providers in Nigeria (MTN, ETISALAT,GLO and Airtel). This software can download at an average speed of 30kb/s on gprs and edge while it download as much as 350kb/s on 3g and 3.5g network.

Before you can use this software, you will need:

2. A java runtime software . You can download it HERE

After downloading those software’s, install the java runtime software, after the installation open the india web proxy software. The software is in zip format; unzip the folder to your desktop. Open the folder and locate the java application (India web proxy). Run the java program and click on settings, it should bring a dialogue box that look like this:

Note untick the enable encryption
then save and close

After this, go to your browser and change the browser settings to
Http proxy: 127.0.0.1 port: 6050
Ssl proxy: 127.0.0.1 port: 6051
Fill the remaining protocol with 127.0.0.1 with port: 6050.

Your computer should now browse if you properly configure it.
N.B: The configuration above work very well with Mtn as at the time of writing this post and it work perfectly with indian web proxy V1 and V2

Browse Free On Your Phone And PC With Airtel New Free Browsing Offer!

Can I hear someone say thank you Airtel. Airtel has allowed all Nigerians to browse free for a month. This will be given to those who care to receive it. I believe there is no service provider that can do this for Nigerians. To get this free offer from Airtel, follow these steps.

Step1. Text ‘SOCIALMONTH’ without space and quote to 440, after sending the text, you will receive a message from 0802 telling you to wait.

Step2. Wait for some few minutes, then you will receive another message from 0802 telling you that you have been given 1024mb of data bundle. It could be more than that because I have seen people that receive 2gb and 3gb, it depends on your luck.

Step3. Now dial *141*712*0# on your phone and you will see that you have been given 1024mb or more.

N: B- You don’t need to have money on your phone to do this, you can get this service with #0.00 on your phone and if you are having money on your phone, it won’t be deducted.
You can as well remove the sim and put it inside your modem to browse on your PC. The 1gb will last for a month.
